Programs and Committees


Back to School Coffee  

This committee will arrange a welcome coffee at Hilltop Elementary on the first day of school right after drop-off. The committee chair will put together a committee to set up tables for coffee, OJ, donuts, bagels, etc...A member of the committee should be able to solicit volunteers and sell spirit wear


 

Halloween Spirit/Trunk or Treat

This committee will work together to organize a trunk or treat event during the month of October to provide children with a safe afternoon of Halloween fun. Part of the committee responsibilities will include securing a location, decorating, organizing games and food. 


Book Fair

Chairs: Vanessa Cerchio and Renee Manno

The Book fair committee raises funds through a one-week Fall book fair at Hilltop. Volunteers are needed for set-up and take-down as well as during the book fair to help with the registers.


Snow Much Fun

This is a dance held in January for our 3rd & 4th graders. Volunteers will coordinate the details of the event including snacks, DJ, photo booth, decorations, etc and provide chaperones. Date for the event is TBD for 2020.


Hilltop Bingo Night

This committee coordinates this fun family event at Hilltop. Time is spent organizing the event, including marketing, items for concession stand, theme (if desired) and running the event.  Event to be held February 7, 2020.


Hilltop Fourth Grade Movie Night

This committee coordinates a fun event at Hilltop for the fourth grade class. Time is spent organizing the event, including marketing, items for concession stand, theme (if desired) and running the event.


Boro Bash

Coordinate end of year Boro Bash which will be our biggest fundraiser of the year. Event includes games, inflatables, food and DJ. Solicitations are helpful to offset the cost. We need volunteers to help plan end execute the event.


Hilltop Memory Book

This committee is responsible for taking pictures of the students at Hilltop throughout the school year at various events.  The chair will coordinate the organization of the book and the committee will assist in helping to identify the names of all the students in the book.  It would be helpful to have at least one volunteer from each grade represented on this committee. Digital camera experience a plus.


Hilltop KidsCare

This committee provides our children with hands-on projects that help foster volunteerism and community spirit.  It helps our children recognize that they have the power to make a difference locally and globally.  Volunteers will be asked to coordinate various volunteer/ fund-raising opportunities for the students.  Students give up their recess time time to work on these projects.  As projects run throughout the school year, please feel free to donate your time on a month that suits you!  

All volunteers will be required to attend mandatory training and education supplied by the administration.


The Green Team

This committee coordinates recycling opportunities for the school including ink cartridges, yogurt cups, crayons, glue bottles, CDs and DVDs.  The Committee encourages all things green to be given a second life.


After School Enrichment

The enrichment chair works with the Hilltop & Mountain View principals to create club lists, organize schedules, update the HSA website, collect payment, and communicate with parents.


Box Tops for Education

This committee encourages collection of box tops through informations, contests, etc.  All box tops will be collected from school, edited, counted and submitted to BTFE. The committee member will keep track of funds earned for the school and collect the money.


Hilltop Lunchroom Helpers

This committee provides the Hilltop cafeteria with a few extra helping hands. Volunteers assist in the lunchroom during K-3 scheduled lunches. Siblings may not attend. Volunteers would be scheduled 1-2 days a month, 11AM—12:50 PM. Chair is responsible for setting up schedule.

All volunteers will be required to attend mandatory training and education supplied by the administration.


Cultural Arts

This committee helps coordinate all cultural arts programs provided at both Mountain View and Hilltop.


Buddy Family

This committee was established to ease the transition for new families into the district. Buddy families are expected to reach out to their assigned family, welcome them to town, host a playdate and provide tips that would be helpful for a new family in our district. The Committee Chair will work to pair buddy families with incoming families & host a get together with buddy families and new families.


School Garden

Chair: Brianne Tuthill

This committee helps to maintain seasonal plantings and the landscape. No gardening experience necessary, but you have to be willing to get your hands dirty.


Display My Art

This committee coordinates with the art teachers at Hilltop to create an art project per grade level that can be ordered on various items such as mugs, magnets, etc. The committee collects orders and helps to distribute them.
